Body Contouring

Body contouring is an excellent option for women and men with a significant amount of loose excess skin around their bodies. Patients who have undergone major weight loss or who have gone through pregnancy can benefit from body contouring surgery. Candidates for body contouring surgery should be in good overall health and close to their ideal weight. Improvements to your body’s shape and overall image may be achieved by reducing excess fat and/or sagging skin and tissue. Areas treated by body contouring include the face, neck, upper arms, female and male breasts, abdomen, flanks, back, hips, buttocks, and thighs.

There will be a scar where the incisions for your body contouring procedure are made. Despite every effort to keep the scar as thin and subtle as possible, there will always be some evidence of the surgical incision. Numbness or decreased sensation can occur anywhere that surgery is performed.

Swelling and bruising around the surgical sites is to be expected and will take some time to fully dissipate. Swelling may require the use of compression garments in the treated area for weeks to after surgery. Most patients will need several weeks of recovery before they can resume their normal activities. Exercise, heavy lifting, and other strenuous activities will need to be avoided for longer to allow the body to fully heal. Post-operative appointments will be scheduled to ensure you are healing properly and our team will provide you with post-operative instructions.
