Body Contouring
Body contouring procedures can help patients to remove excess loose skin after weight loss to unveil the more svelte body inside. At Plastic Surgery Northwest, we have helped numerous patients by getting rid of their excess loose skin and restoring the toned appearance of their figure by providing them with beautiful results from their body contouring surgery in Spokane.
Body Contouring Candidates
Body contouring is an excellent option for women and men with a significant amount of loose excess skin around their bodies. Patients who have undergone major weight loss or who have gone through pregnancy can benefit from body contouring surgery. Candidates for body contouring surgery should be in good overall health and close to their ideal weight. Improvements to your body’s shape and overall image may be achieved by reducing excess fat and/or sagging skin and tissue. Areas treated by body contouring include the face, neck, upper arms, female and male breasts, abdomen, flanks, back, hips, buttocks, and thighs.
How Body Contouring is Performed
At Plastic Surgery Northwest in Spokane, we may recommend one or more procedures to achieve your goals of a more shapely, contoured body. These techniques utilize the removal, or excision, of skin, to tighten loose, sagging tissue. Surgical drains are placed to remove fluid that naturally accumulates within the site reshaped by surgery. The amount of fluid is measured by the patient on a daily basis. Once the output falls low enough, arrangements are made for removal of the drain in an office outpatient setting. Drains typically remain in place for one to three weeks, but may need to remain in place longer.
Body Contouring Recovery and Results
There will be a scar where the incisions for your body contouring procedure are made. Despite ever effort to keep the scar as thin and subtle as possible, there will always be some evidence of the surgical incision. Numbness or decreased sensation can occur anywhere that surgery is performed.
Swelling and bruising around the surgical sites is to be expected and will take some time to fully dissipate. Swelling may require the use of compression garments in the treated area for weeks to after surgery. Most patients will need several weeks of recovery before they can resume their normal activities. Exercise, heavy lifting, and other strenuous activities will need to be avoided for longer to allow the body to fully heal. Post-operative appointments will be scheduled to ensure you are healing properly and our team will provide you with post-operative instructions.
Cost and Payment Options
The cost of your body contouring in Spokane will be based on the techniques used and the amount of work required to provide you with your desired results. During your consultation, our team will ask about the areas of your body you want to address. Our team can let you know what the expected cost of your surgery will be and go over the payment and financing options available to you.
