Common Questions & FAQs
How long do rhinoplasty results last?
Rhinoplasty results are generally permanent. Once healed, the structural changes to your nose will last a lifetime. Minor swelling can take several months to fully subside, but the final shape will remain stable as long as there’s no trauma or significant structural change over time.
Will my breathing improve after the surgery?
Our surgeons focus on cosmetic enhancement and facial harmony. No guarantees will be made regarding functional or structural issues.
Is there visible scarring?
Most rhinoplasties are performed using a closed (endonasal) approach, where all incisions are inside the nostrils, leaving no visible scarring. If an open rhinoplasty is needed, a small incision is made at the columella (the tissue between the nostrils), which typically heals as a faint, barely visible scar.
What are the risks and recovery expectations?
Risks include swelling, bruising, bleeding, infection, asymmetry, breathing changes, or dissatisfaction with appearance, though serious complications are rare when performed by a board-certified plastic surgeon.
Most patients return to non-strenuous activities in 7–10 days. A nasal splint is usually worn for one week, with bruising around the eyes fading over two weeks. Final results take 6–12 months to fully refine as residual swelling gradually resolves.
